| Chevrolet has revised the Colorado's wheel and paint offerings slightly but otherwise carries over with no significant changes for 2026. |
| The 2026 Colorado is available as a crew cab with a 5-foot box; the four-wheel drive is offered in five trims levels: WT, LT, Trail Boss, Z71 and ZR2, while the rear-wheel drive is only available on the WT and LT trims. The Colorado is engineered to provide best-in-class towing capacity in the midsize truck segment, with a maximum towing rating of 7700-lbs. It is available exclusively as a four-door crew cab model, with rear seats big enough to comfortably sit adults (even on long drives).
The four-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive trims come with a single engine, powered by a 2.7L turbocharged 4-cylinder producing 310 horsepower and 430 lb.-ft of torque, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The EPA has not released fuel-economy information for the 2026 Chevrolet Colorado yet, but the ratings should not change from 2025 which are as follows: rear-wheel-drive - 19 mpg city and 23 mpg highway, four-wheel drive - 17 mpg city and 21 mpg highway.
WT trims are the base trims and feature 4-wheel disc brakes, 17-inch steel wheels, bucket front seats, air conditioning, satellite radio, 6-speakers, cruise control, 11.3-inch touchscreen display, wireless phone connectivity with Apple Car Play and Android Auto, 2 USB ports, and 11-inch instrument gauge display.
The LT trims add integrated storage, easy lift and lower tailgate, auto-dimming rear view mirror, driver and passenger heated front seats, 8-way power front driver seat with 2-way power lumbar support, illuminated entry, front dual zone automatic air conditioning, 3 USB ports, smart device remote start, and leatherette steering wheel.
In addition, the Trail Boss and Z71 trims come with 18-inch aluminum wheels.
The Z71 comes with LED headlights, daytime running lights, fog lights, 4 USB ports, interior and exterior 120V AC power outlet, wireless device charging, trailer brake controller, a 2-speed transfer case, and hill descent control.
The ZR2 is performance based with a 220-amp alternator, driver selectable modes, driver selectable locking front and rear differential, off-road suspension, off-road low speed cruise control, four skid plates, spray-in bed liner, integrated storage in the pickup bed, and bed rail protectors.
Safety features on the Colorado include Stabilitrak stability control, traction control, anti-lock brakes, active lane departure, active blind spot, forward and rear collision mitigation, front pedestrian detection, following distance alert, and 6 airbags. |
| Chevrolet calls the Colorado a "mid-sized" pickup truck, but it is actually the smallest pickup truck built by GM, slotting below the Silverado and Silverado HD. The Colorado can easily haul cargo and drive around the city without any serious concerns about parking or street size. The primary competitors for the 2026 Chevrolet Colorado are the Ford Ranger, Toyota Tacoma and the Nissan Frontier. |
